The Final Poster: Elastic band ball inspired piece...

For this piece I used 100 strips of paper to create the ball, and decided to print the information on strips rather than adding it later...

The strips of paper and start of the ball as I built it up, wrapping each strip around the ball, tucking the strips into each other to hold it into place.

I started to photograph the piece using an infinity background, and altering the white balance, and used different lighting to get a range of photo's to choose and work from...

This was the first poster/image I created. I felt however that the positioning and sizing and everything was just off with this piece. The brief requires the poster to be portrait and I feel this particular poster would be more effective landscape, therefore I tried out a different composition

I really like this piece, I prefer the image in black and white, and the positioning for the whole piece is a lot stronger than before. I like how the paper structure incorporates the information in a simple type face, rather than just being an image accompanied by text.

I also like the use of just one plain coloured paper, with a consistent texture, so that the image and idea behind it is there, without distracting the audience from the information which I feel colours and textures could do.

I also feel the context of this piece is strong, influenced by an elastic band ball, the piece is made up of 100 strips of paper, and it was built up from nothing, constantly adding to it, and it can and will continue to grow.
