Working through my ideas in a sketchbook I explored different ways and methods of doing things, developing my ideas and discarding others.
Dysfunctional - puzzle that doesnt fit together
- maybe the pieces don't fit?
- the picture doesn't work
- plain jigsaw? picture on it?
- stuck down? left for interaction?
Plastic - Barbie
- use the dolls to make the word?
- use elements of the doll?
- edit the logo?
- add elements to the logo?
Spiky - texture
- look at a range of materials
- maybe something that you don't really realise is spiky?
- rubber grips?
- zips - spikier one way
Flowing - want to see something move
- tubes?
- fill with coloured water so that the audience can interact with the piece?
Toxic - senses
- something looks or smells toxic but isn't harmful to smell or touch?
- the smell of vodka?
- something that becomes toxic?
- things toxic to the environment when they're burnt
Sticky - senses again
- looks sticky - covered in fluff and hair...
- feels sticky?
- gum on shoe - tacky, strechy kind of sticky
Random - unconscious decision making
- randomly choose something
- no reason or persuasion drawn to any particular decision
Tempting - Gu advert!
- something tactile and tempting
- labels?
- bubble wrap?
Outcome - help along the way
- projects and assignments
- the process? the tools?
Burn - aftermath
- Ash from burning?
- accidental? ruined?
- disappointing and frustrating
- burnt dinner/toast
